Die with a smile

It’s not the disrespect.
Not the selfishness, mood swings, or the money.
Not the I’ve done so much already.”
Not even someone being smarter or richer than you.

It’s not about what you didn’t accomplish,
Or that last family trip to Paris you never took.

It’s not about trying to please everyone,
It’s about realizing we can adapt,
And care more for the people around us.
Not just 30%.
Aim for 100.

Imagine if we all tried.
Or even if most of us did.
How different would the world feel?

The hardest part?
Realizing you haven’t always been the kindest to everyone you’ve met.

What matters most isn’t what you’ve had,
It’s who stood by you,
And how you made them feel.

Because in the end, numbers count.
The more people you lift,
The easier life becomes.

Even at the very end,
When you die with a smile,
Because you meant something to many.

  1. Yes agree, if you’ve spent your life being good to others, really good, I can see how, in the end, you’d leave with a smile. Not out of pride, but peace, knowing your absence will be felt in a world you tried to make better.
